Heat Pump Heating | Air Source

There are two main types of air source heat pump.

Air to Water
These systems are equally at home in new or existing properties. They work by absorbing energy in the ambient air outside and, by using a refrigerant circuit, amplify it to heat water.

This can then be used to supply radiators or underfloor heating and hot water.

These products are ideal for replacing oil and gas fired boilers, or electric heating systems such as nightstorage, nightstore compacts and electricaire units.

Air to water heat pumps are highly efficient with typical CoP's of over 4 (one kilowatt of power will produce over four kilowatts of heat). This will reduce your energy consumption and fuel costs.

Air to Air
This is how most air conditioning units operate. By absorbing energy in one place and releasing it in another they use the low grade heat of the ambient air outside to warm a coil, the refrigeration circuit uses this to heat a coil inside then uses a fan to circulate the room air across it.
